HOW TO COMMISSION A PORTRAIT

Let me know the size you would like, whether in black and white (graphite) or colour (coloured pencils) and attach your photograph, along with any photos that you think capture the personality of the subject to be portrayed.
I draw entirely from the photographs and this is the first step: choosing the perfect photo.
Usually I prefer to take the pictures myself (included in the price) and meet the subject in person.
If this is not possible here is an example of an ideal image:
It is very important that your image is in high definition, preferably with both eyes visible in natural light.
Suggestions:
Outdoor / natural light, without very dark shadows. Photo taken at subject's eye level (to avoid distortion of features). Possibility to zoom into the picture to see the details. Reflection of the light in the eyes. Sharpness and focus without blurred areas apart from the background. Preferably digital files, but I can also work from a printed photo.
Once I start working on your portrait, I'll update you with the work in progress with some pictures and will provide a final image for your approval.
I require a 50% deposit and the remaining balance will be paid before shipping.
For more subjects, larger sizes, houses, whole body or backgrounds I will give a quote first.
Prices:
The measures take into account the perimeter of the
drawing and not the size of the sheet.
Black and white portraits (graphite) :
10x15 cm 200€
15x20 cm 300€
20x25 cm 400€
25x30 cm 500€
and so on...
In colour (coloured pencils) 150€ more.
The portraits are not framed and are delivered
in a handmade folder.
Materials
The drawings are made using Faber-Castell Polychromos, Caran D'Ache Luminance and Pablo coloured pencils of professional quality or koh-I-Noor or Faber Castell graphite drawing pencils, on MAGNANI 1404 paper or Fabriano 100% cotton paper.
Privacy
Often projects on commission are of a personal nature and/or in memory of a valuable family member. Sharing these images publicly (via Instagram or my website portfolio) is something I will only do if approved by you.
Works on commission
I create customized portraits, drawings and lampshades
on request.
Getting inspired by the photographs and transmitting the soul of the drawing through the shades
and colors.
Profiles
Hand-cut black or white silhouettes with the possibility to choose the background with different colors and patterns.

Send me a photo of your profile subject. Ideally with a neutral background and hair tied up, if long. You should see the whole head and not just the profile of the face, which should be as natural as possible in order to avoid the distortion of features.

I create the profiles with a standard size of about 12x15cm on a 25x25cm sheet and the cost is 40€ for each profile, without frame.
For other dimensions or special requests I will first give an estimate.
